Colic is intense, hard-to-soothe crying in an otherwise healthy baby, often defined as crying for 3+ hours a day, 3+ days a week, for 3+ weeks. It usually starts around 2–3 weeks old and often peaks near 6 weeks.
Colic often shows up alongside reflux, constipation and latching difficulties, since all of them depend on the same nervous system control of digestion and feeding.
We look for areas of tension in your baby’s spine and nervous system, especially the upper neck and the base of the spine, that may be keeping their nervous system on high alert. Gentle adjustments help release that tension so your baby can shift into “rest and digest” mode more easily.
Baby adjustments use about the pressure you’d use to test a ripe tomato. Most are done with fingertips while your baby lies on your lap or a soft table, and many babies relax or even fall asleep during their visit.
Your baby’s first visit includes a full history (including their birth story), a gentle exam and INSiGHT CLA scans to see how their nervous system is handling stress. Our doctors then walk you through the results and a care plan made for your little one.
We’re in downtown St. Petersburg at 360 Central Ave, Suite 1200 (First Central Tower), with a private nursing nook for feeds before or after adjustments. Many parents notice calmer evenings within the first few weeks of consistent care, though every baby is different.
Our doctors have 250+ hours of advanced pediatric training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). Dr. Savy Ford and Dr. Peyton Gallentine review cases together, so your baby benefits from the whole team’s experience.
We use INSiGHT CLA scanning to measure nervous system stress objectively and track your baby’s progress. And we know what it’s like to be up at 2 a.m. with an inconsolable baby, because we’re parents too.
Every child is different, and results vary.
