POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) is a form of dysautonomia, a disorder of the autonomic nervous system. It’s diagnosed when your heart rate rises by 30+ beats per minute (40+ in teens) within 10 minutes of standing, along with symptoms like dizziness and fatigue, without a large drop in blood pressure.
POTS often overlaps with headaches, sleep challenges and a nervous system that struggles to regulate.
POTS often overlaps with headaches, sleep challenges and a nervous system that struggles to regulate.
Chiropractic care supports your autonomic nervous system by gently releasing neuro-spinal tension, especially in the upper neck, where the brainstem and vagus nerve help regulate heart rate and blood pressure.
INSiGHT CLA scans include heart rate variability (HRV), a direct window into autonomic balance. It gives us, and you, an objective way to track how your nervous system is adapting over time.
Because many POTS patients are hypermobile, we use gentle, low-force techniques and never push joints beyond a safe range. We’ll also schedule around your energy, start appointments lying down if needed, and give you time to sit up slowly afterward.
We work alongside your cardiologist, neurologist or primary care provider and support the plan they recommend, such as fluids, salt, compression and gradual reconditioning exercise. We’re located at 360 Central Ave, Suite 1200 in downtown St. Petersburg.
Nervous system function is the center of everything we do. Our collaborative team of Dr. Savy Ford and Dr. Peyton Gallentine reviews your scans together, and we’re honest about what chiropractic can and can’t do for you.
